These included unarmed resistance, sabotage, assassinations and commando raids. The most famous action of the Norwegian Resistance involved the destruction of German heavy water facilities, effectively preventing the Nazis from developing a fully functional nuclear weapon. However, this resulted in brutal reprisals towards innocent Norwegian civilians. The most notorious reprisal involved the execution of villagers in Telavag in 1942 (dubbed 'The Telavag Tragedy').
