DOGS OF VOSD - A YEAR DOWN THE LINE, LUCKY, THE DOG WITH DISLOCATED SHOULDER, IS HAPPY AND HEALTHY https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/mont... Lucky was a happy little pup born on the streets of Pune. However, his happiness was short-lived as hostile neighbors displaced him and his family from their home environment and illegally relocated them elsewhere. The little pups were regularly targeted by older territorial dogs in the new neighbourhood. Sadly, all of Lucky's siblings died due to repeated altercations with other street dogs. As for Lucky, he suffered a massive wound on his shoulder which would have proved fatal had a kind rescuer not stepped in to save the day. The rescuer took Lucky to an NGO where he received treatment for his injuries. His external wounds healed quickly enough but the deep bite on the shoulder caused it to dislocate. Since Lucky was still young and sprightly, his foster parents wanted to get him adopted; but the disabled and mixed-breed boy found no takers. Moreover, he could not be released back to the streets as a lone, disabled pup would again be victimised by his stronger counterparts.  So, he came to live with us at VOSD after all attempts to get him adopted failed.  Lucky has been the life of VOSD ever since he came here. He is fun, carefree and gets along well with everyone. And he has had a very good year.  Our team pays close attention to his nutritional requirements and since he is completely fit, he moves about the sanctuary all day long. He is fondly referred to as Cycle because his dislocated shoulder movement resembles that of a bicycle pedal.  The long and lithe dog might have lost his entire family during his early days but today he has several dog friends, including Koyla and Rambo. He also has us humans and it's definitely an honor to have him consider us family. Lucky has also grown into such a handsome boy with a beautiful and expressive face. He looks like a young James Dean, doesn't he? Displacing dogs from their birthplace comes very close to killing them. Lucky's family was wiped out in the pathetic exercise, the little boy somehow survived the tragedy, but hundreds of dogs don't meet the same fate.
