Lee Trink was a Child actor, got a PHD, trained with the Israeli Army and worked as a Prosecutor in the Brooklyn D.A.'s office. All this made him "prepared for warfare" when he went into the record business. Since that time, Lee has been Director of Product Development at Atlantic Records, where he first met Kid Rock, has been General Manager and Senior Vice President at Lava Records, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Virgin Records America, and since 2007 served as President of Capitol Music Group. In his time at Capitol, Lee has broke more artists than any other major label, and he continues to build a reputation for progressive thinking. On Friday, May 9th as part of the 2014 Music Summit, Canadian Music Week presented a Celebrity Interview with Lee at the Toronto Marriot Hotel. The interview is conducted by Ralph Simon, himself a distinguished visionary & innovator, CEO of Mobilium Global, and popularly known as "the father of the ring tone". Ralph and Lee discuss Lee's talent for breaking new acts, among them Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker and Katy Perry, the importance of transparency between Artist and Concert Promoter, and the need to consider new ways of doing things, such as Kid Rock's $20 ticket tour, which was supported and enabled by Lee. Towards the end of the interview, there is a clip from CNN's "The Piers Morgan Show", with Kid Rock talking about the $20 ticket tour. But the last word still belongs to Lee Trink: "First of all, you have to believe in your artist, you have to listen to your artist ... most people have a knee jerk reaction, you can't do that, it's not done that way ... you should say, maybe you don't do it this way, but I think it can be done this way, and I'm going to figure out how to do it this way."
