"Hi, I'm Tommy Liu and I'm a plastic surgeon here at The Polyclinic. Ever since I was a little kid, my favorite hobby was drawing, particularly portraits. So in the study of the face, I wanted to have the opportunity and the skills to be able to change the face. So that's why I went into plastic surgery and also into a craniofacial fellowship so that I had the skills to fully transform the facial form. My education started as an undergrad at Stanford University, where I studied biology. And then I went on to Case Western University, which is in Cleveland for my medical school training. From there, I went to University of Washington. I continued that education with an optional one-year craniofacial fellowship at University of California in Los Angeles. My practice includes aesthetic and reconstructive surgery all over the body. But my focus is craniofacial surgery focusing on the face. I have additional training in facial feminization and facial masculinization surgery, which I offered to patients undergoing gender affirmation. My other specialties are Asian aesthetic surgery for the face. So for example, creating double eyelid folds, Asian rhinoplasties, and jaw contouring, as well as aesthetic and functional rhinoplasty. My approach to patient care is number one, listen to you. That is the most important thing because everybody has unique goals and I want to formulate a custom surgery plan based on what you want. And no two surgeries are alike. The main reason I chose to practice at The Polyclinic was because of my partners. Combined, my six partners have over a hundred years of experience, and that is significant with somebody just coming out of training to have that mentorship. And also because they do different surgeries than I do. So I bring a different field of expertise to complement their practice so that we're able to offer the full spectrum of plastic surgery at The Polyclinic. So when I'm not working, I love creating meals for family and friends. I'm also an avid home barista and love to practice my latte art. And then when I really have free time, every once in a while, I'll get back into drawing. And right now it's mostly drawing my kids. I think if you're looking for a provider who's really there to listen to what you want and your needs, who's really willing to tailor their surgical plan to you, then I may be a good fit for you."
