From self-titled LP, 2008 [Thrill Jockey] Jazz cornet player and sound explorer Rob Mazurek also leads the Exploding Star Orchestra. The group's second album was blessed with the appearance of obscure legend and trumpeter, Bill Dixon. Aside from this track and the album being very strong, I have to say that capturing Bill Dixon in a recording is special since I don't think there are many Dixon audio documents laying around given his number of years in the business. Mazurek composed this track. I took a short cut and skipped transcribing the personnel list from my CD liner notes.
