Transcript Hello, my name is Christopher Ennen. I'm a maternal-fetal medicine physician here at the University of Virginia Health System. I see patients here in Charlottesville, Culpeper, and other hospitals in the UVA Community Health network. Maternal-fetal medicine is a specialty of OB-GYN where we take care of women experiencing complicated pregnancies, whether that's a complication of a medical problem they have, or a complication with their baby, or sometimes both. I really enjoy educating my patients on their condition to help them understand the treatments that we're offering and recommending. Of all the medical conditions in pregnancy that we treat, I derive the most enjoyment helping patients take care of their diabetes in pregnancy, whether that was before their pregnancy or that develops during the pregnancy. Helping explain the condition and helping them understand the effects of diet, exercise, and medication all play together to help them improve. When a new patient comes to the maternal-fetal medicine clinic here at UVA, you can expect a comprehensive and compassionate encounter with our whole team. We work together with the nursing staff, the student physicians, the maternal-fetal medicine attending physicians to provide holistic and comprehensive care. We can see you for your ultrasounds and your clinic visits, and visits with other specialists all in the same building, all in the same day to provide the answers that you need, to help take care of your baby and your pregnancy.
