This webinar was held on December 17, 2025. In this webinar, HMA and the National Alliance for Impacting the Social Determinants of Health (NASDOH), an alliance managed by Leavitt Partners, an HMA Company, had an in-depth discussion on the evolving policy landscape on the upstream drivers of health, which includes the social, economic, and environmental conditions that influence whether people can achieve and maintain good health. This session explored the latest federal changes, including changes to Medicaid guidance, payment models, and quality measures, as well as innovative state opportunities. Our experts highlighted how stakeholders can screen for health-related social needs and address upstream drivers to improve health outcomes for all Americans, including the evidence-base for these activities. Learning Objectives: Understand how social and structural factors influence health outcomes. Recognize how federal and state policy changes are impacting health improvement efforts. Identify and adopt innovative models for screening and addressing root causes of poor health. Speakers: Caroline Fichtenberg, PhD, Co-Director Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN) Carter Kimble, MPH, Principal Health Management Associates Laura Pence, Director Leavitt Partners, an HMA Company Sara Singleton, Principal Leavitt Partners, an HMA Company
