I’m Shan, live in Beijing, China. Shan(山) means mountain in Chinese.⛰️ 📂This time, I've started a trip with my wife Fanya together to China’s deep west—Qinghai and Gansu. These provinces are not well-known to the world as Beijing or Shanghai. We wanted to experience their amazing scenery and culture first hand. It's not only a meaningful experience for us as being a new couple in our marriage year-1, but also a journey for me my self to start over as a creator, creating and sharing what I love with you. In this episode, We explored Matisi (Mati Temple / 马蹄寺) & Seven-colored Danxia Landform(七彩丹霞) in Zhangye(张掖). Hope you like this video 🎈 --More Information About Our Destinations-- Zhangye City / 张掖 📍 Geographical Location: Situated in the heart of the Hexi Corridor, where the Qinghai - Tibet Plateau meets the Mongolian Plateau, Zhangye is a crucial stop on the ancient Silk Road. The grotto group includes seven units like the Thousand - Buddha Cave, South and North Mati Temples, etc. With 37 grottoes containing cultural relics, it preserves over 500 precious statues and 1,200 square meters of murals from various dynasties. It’s a national key cultural relic protection unit. 🏯 Architectural Characteristics: The grottoes are carved into steep cliffs. The “Thirty - three Heavens” is a remarkable cluster with 7 - layer, 21 - niche tunnels, and the Zangfo Hall showcases complex and magnificent architecture, blending Tibetan, Han, and Han - Tibetan styles. -- Seven - colored Danxia / 七彩丹霞 📍 Geographical Location: The Seven - colored Danxia Scenic Area is in Linze and Sunan counties, 40 kilometers east of Zhangye City and 20 kilometers north of Linze County, covering 50 square kilometers. 🌋 Geological Features: It’s the most typical Danxia landform in northern China’s arid areas and the only place where Danxia landform and colored hilly landscape integrate perfectly.
