Neoma was a lifelong resident of Tuttle, spending all but one year of her life in the community she loved. A proud member of the Tuttle High School Class of 1957, she never missed a single day of school and played snare drum in the high school band for four years. She built a beautiful life with her husband, Ervie Gene McKinney, raising their daughters Connie and Sheri in a home that was always full of friends, laughter, and love. In 1960, Neoma began her career with the Oklahoma Publishing Company before moving into banking at First American Bank of Minco and later Sooner State Bank. A true entrepreneur, Neoma and Ervie owned and operated numerous local businesses over the years, from restaurants and mini golf to retail shops. After Ervie’s passing, she continued her business ventures, opening M&M Convenience Store, Tiger Rags Screen Printing, and Neoma’s This and That. She also co-founded the Tuttle Improvement Committee, helping launch the city’s Christmas Tour of Homes. Neoma loved to travel, loved her community, and above all loved her family fiercely. Known as a powerhouse and even a legend, she was a tiny woman with a giant personality who set an example of strength, generosity, and determination. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and the countless friends whose lives she touched.
