Building A Grow Light System For Indoor Seed Starting 🌸🌸🌸

In this video I am moving from Plan A to Plan B and installing my very own indoor grow light system. Sowing seeds in my little greenhouse just did not work out and only my Brussels germinated. But it was a trial and I would never have known if it would work unless I gave it a go. Now my greenhouse will be used for potting seedlings on and moving them into bigger pots, so it’s still going to be extremely useful. I have been inspired by Roxana at Soil and Margaritas who has built her own wonderful set-up using LED shop lights. As Roxana explains in her video, the important thing to remember is the lights you buy need to have Lumens (brightness) of 2500 or more, and Kelvins (colour of the lights) between 5000-6500K. You need to position the lights about 3-4 inches above your seedlings, and you need to have the lights on for around 16 hours each day, so it’s a good idea to put them on a timer. I managed to find the same lights Roxana used which are made by Barrina. It took me an incredible 5 (yes five!) hours to sow all my seeds and they are now under the lights and I have all my fingers crossed that they (or at least some of them) will be ready to plant out in the borders around the end of May.
