Peranakan cuisine...where have you been all my life!? Started today with nothing better than Nyonya Laksa! This was some heavy handed coconut and sambal based Laksa! I also got the Popiah which made me feel the healthiest I have felt in my whole time in Malaysia. Next up, I went to snack on some Nyonya Chang, glutinous rice stuffed goodies wrapped in banana leaves. While they had two different types, I seemed to really enjoy the first one, while the second was just not for me. Of course I finished this snack off with a mandatory cendol. Some really good home cooked Peranankan cuisine from this next restaurant. Lots of love and flavor going into these dishes. Let’s not forget the epic finish with the durian cendol and what is one of my top rated cendols in Malaysia. Lastly, another Peranakan restaurant, but this time pure Halal! I still have dreams about that sambal and fried eggs.
