Animation of the moving parts of a 3D printed vehicle model, using the animation workbench AnimationFreeCAD (modified version of PyFlow). The parts used for the animation were created in a previous tutorial video: • FreeCAD / Steerable 3D printed vehicl... Instructions for installing the AnimationFreeCAD addon can be found here: • FreeCAD animation. / How to install t... The video shows the basics and uses different nodes, such as: StartNode WaitNode SpinBySpeedNode RectilinearTranslationBySpeedNode setAngleObjectNode PlaceNode GetPosition Furthermore, it is shown how the correct rotation center can be found for the different planes. I think, it's helpful to check the timing behavior at the end, when all objects are embedded in the animation, and adjust it (WaitNodes). I didn't do that in this video. So it can jerk a bit towards the end. There is certainly still potential for improvement for this tool, for example for the user interface through which the values for the nodes are entered. It really takes a lot of getting used to. I tried rotating the tire in two planes at the same time (z-axis and x-axis). This works at first glance, but on closer inspection I noticed that the wheels also perform an unwanted tilting movement. But all in all I enjoy working with this PyFlow based animation workbench and I want to thank the developers who always have great ideas and turn them into action.
