While on safari, sighting of wildlife is absolutely based on chance; not certain. 3. Carrying of food and beverage items into the Park is prohibited. 4. Do not litter the park; leave your foot prints only. 5. Smoking, consumption of alcohol and other contrabands inside the Park is prohibited. 6. Feeding, teasing, disturbing wild animals is strictly prohibited. Please take care to limit your presence in the designated areas only while inside the Park. 7. Illegal entry, use of unauthorized space, unauthorized trekking and picnicking is punishable. 8. Do not carry plastic materials inside the park as the Park is a Plastic free zone. The Significance of Eravikulam National Park There are several factors that come together to prove the significance and value of the national park, culturally, ecologically and sociologically. Some of these reasons are: 1. This park presently houses the largest population of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and is also the famous habitat of Neelakurunji which blooms only once every 12 years. Apart from these, the park is also home to Nilgiri Marten, Ruddy Mongoose, Small Clawed Otter, Dusky Striped Squirrel, and other animals.. The highest peak of the Indian Peninsula lies in the national park. Anamudi (2695m) is also the highest peak of southern India. This region is also a prime tourist spot as this park is the prime attraction of Munnar and is now one of the major tourist destinations in the whole of India.
