Tasting Notes: Aroma / Nose • Deep oak and barrel char underpin the profile. • Fruit notes: baked apples, pears, dried apricots, cherry, mixed berry jam. • Sweet components: vanilla, caramel, toasted sugar, toffee. • Spices and herbals: cinnamon, nutmeg, cracked black pepper, anise/fennel, ginger. • Secondary notes: leather, mixed nuts, peanut brittle, char, slight tobacco. Palate / Taste • The entry is sweet: toasted sugar, caramel, vanilla. • Fruit evolves: baked red apple, dried apricot, cherry cola. • Spice and rye influence: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, black pepper, herbal / earthy spice. • Oak and tannin begin to emerge mid-palate (aged wood character). • Subtle secondary notes: hazelnut / nut character, mild minty impression, sometimes leather. Finish • Medium length (some call it “medium-long”) with a lingering oak / barrel char element. • Flavor fade: cherry/candy cola sweetness gives way to dried cinnamon, tanned leather, tobacco, and dry oak. • The rye spice (cinnamon, pepper) lingers but not overwhelmingly hot. • Slight tannic / drying edge in the finish, though tempered by residual sweetness.
