Taking off from Castlehill in Ardrossan on an unusually calm and clear early spring evening we head south west to Arran Place before turning and heading along south beach towards Saltcoats in the distance. We then turn near the edge of Saltcoats taking in St. Matthews Academy, The Holm Plantation and Ardrossan South Beach railway station. We pass over the rail bridge on South Beach Road and see the rail junction, the right hand line heading to Largs and the left to Ardrossan Town and Ardrossan Harbour stations. Approaching Castlehill we pass over Ardrossan bowling club and can see Ardossan Winton Rovers F.C. on the right. Passing the castle we head over Princes Street, the Asda store and the Stagecoach Western bus depot. Taking in the marina and harbour we fly north east towards Glasgow Street. At Ardrossan Indoor bowling club and Civic Centre we turn flying back over Ardrossan Castle, Ardrossan Town railway station, Robertson Fine Foods factory and Bath Square. We head towards the sea before turning towards Castlehill for the final time passing the disused Church of Scotland church and Saint Peter In Chains Church. Before landing we take a final view of the Marina and Horse Isle.
