Keep sound judgment and wise counsel, 22 and they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. 23 Then you will walk securely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 You will not fear sudden terror, nor the destruction of the wicked when it comes. 26 For the Lord will be your support; he will keep your foot from being snatched away. 27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to do it. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go and come back, and tomorrow I will give it to you,” when you are still with him. 29 Do not plot evil against your neighbor while he is safely residing with you. 30 Do not quarrel with anyone without cause, unless they have done you any harm. 31 Do not envy the wicked, nor choose any of their ways. 32 For the perverse is an abomination to the Lord, but his secret is with the upright. 33 The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling place of the righteous. 34 As he scorns those who scorn him, so he gives grace to the humble. 35 The wise will inherit glory, but fools will bear shame.
