A weekend of fun in Whitefish, MT | Local Lens Seattle

If you were to ask me for one place that feels like home and is truly one of my favorite places of all time, it’s Montana❄️. I got to have a winter wonderland weekend in spectacular Whitefish, Montana. It’s just a little over an hour flight to Kalispell (Glacier Park International Airport) and a quick 20-minute drive to the town of Whitefish. It’s the ultimate ski🎿 and snowboard🏂 destination with world-class dining, art and culture. I got to ski the slopes❄️ at Whitefish Mountain Resort with a private lesson. The resort charms its guests with a fun-loving vibe. It’s the quintessential skier’s mountain with nearly 300 inches of snow annually on 3,000 acres of bowls, chutes and glades. As a beginner skier I was stoked to upgrade from the bunny hill to some green runs⛷️. Some spills of course still happened, but it was a blue bird day and zero complaints. Thanks to my patient ski instructor, Rick. A true GEM. In addition to epic skiing and snowboarding there’s beautiful surroundings☃️. We took a trip to Glacier National Park, Hungry Horse Dam and hiked in snowshoes. This was all thanks to Whitefish Outfitters. You’ll also want to add in some time for downtown shopping- art galleries and the live music scene. My favorite restaurants that will impress even the biggest foodies: Herb and Omni: Chef Earl Reynolds and his team expertly curate rich flavors while using as many quality, local ingredients from Flathead ranches, farms, and purveyors as possible.
