Lawrence Hatchett, MD, who is a graduate of Harvard Medical school, and is sharing his professional insights into how the legalization of marijuana can be a benefit for depressed economies as well as for treating illnesses. Dr Hatchett left a practice in Florida to return to his roots in Southern Illinois - an area of the state that frequently has some of the highest areas of unemployment due to its lack of economic diversity and historically a lack of good paying jobs. Dr. Hatchett says that lack of opportunity -- especially in those communities of color, can be helped by the opportunities to open marijuana dispensaries, and to have a viable business within those communities.
