Luogo simbolo della sacralità, grazie al Santuario di San Michele Arcangelo patrimonio UNESCO. Costituito da una Grotta naturale e da un complesso di costruzioni sovrapposte in epoche e periodi successivi, il Santuario è stato meta di pellegrinaggi di re, papi, santi, imperatori e semplici pellegrini che si inginocchiavano in questo luogo per lavare i “propri peccati”. La prestigiosa rivista americana National Geographic l’ha inserita tra le dieci Grotte Sacre più belle al mondo. È da qui che si apre un lungo percorso di fede che vi condurrà a pochi chilometri dalla città all’antica Abbazia di Santa Maria di Pulsano (XII secolo), un luogo mistico immerso nella natura dove il rito bizantino sposa quello cattolico. In tutta la città numerose chiese di stili diversi vi guideranno in un percorso dello spirito dove la fede incontra la bellezza. This is the starting place of a long faith itinerary that will lead the visitors, a few kilometres from the city, to the ancient Abbey of St. Mary of Pulsano (12th century), a mystical place surrounded by nature, where the Byzantine rite is mixed with the Catholic one.
