Find out more: http://www.pgs-services.co.uk/ PGS Technical Director/Gas Installer Richard Wallace visits a property in Kingston, south west London to carry out a Gas Safety Inspection ahead of issuing a Gas Safety Certificate. A Gas Safety Inspection is where a Gas Safe registered engineer will carry out a series of tests on your gas appliances. These tests check for the safe operation and reliability of your gas appliances.It is a legal requirement for landlords to have their rented property safety tested every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer. In the video Richard talks us through each stage of the inspection, checking all the property's gas appliances and also of course, the central heating system/boiler too. For this particular case nothing failed the inspection, although there was a few areas that were "not to current standards" Which meant if Richard couldn't repair there and then, he would just make a note on the certificate, notifying the customer of the issue, recommending a change but not actually failing the property. Richard finishes the job, commenting: "The Gas Safety Certificate is all done, it was a nice easy one, there's a few recommendations we're going to give to the landlady...on to the next one!"
