Formation 1: Patney, Wiltshire. 08/08/2020 This crop circle was quickly nick-named The Molecule – for obvious reasons. But there seem to be conflicting ideas as to what molecule it actually might be. This formation was huge, approximately as much as 600ft at its widest point! Certainly the biggest crop circle of the year. The central circle contained some lovely laid crop in both swirled and radial patterns. Formation 2: Uffington Castle, Oxfordshire. 08/08/2020 This crop circle pattern is constructed using a division of 24 and then 3 concentric rings provide further complexity. Twenty-four is a number we instantly connect with time; the hours it takes for the Earth to travel around the Sun. Similarly, 24 x 3 = 72, which is one degree of precession, where the stars appear to travel backwards. Formation 3: Scratchbury Hillfort, Wiltshire. 07/08/20202 Despite being one of the smallest circles of the year, measuring 150ft in diameter, it’s still one of my favourites. It shows the beauty contained in repeating circles and many will recognise the flower of life pattern contained within this circle. Small but effective, this circle truly shows the beauty of scared geometry. Let us know which is your favourite formation in the comment section below. Original Drone Footage @Stonehendge Dronescapes
