Retired LIRR M1 Cars 9411 & 9412 Being Used As Training Cars at Nassau County Fire Service Academy
Here are several videos taken on May 15, 2022, featuring two MTA Long Island Railroad Budd Company M1 railcars! Until early 2007, the Long Island Railroad used to operate M1 railcars; they were all replaced by the M7 railcars between 2002 and 2007. While two ended up being preserved, several others found other uses, including cars 9411 and 9412 in this video, which are used as training cars at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy. The 2007 retirement means these cars may have been used for this purpose for around 15 years (from the time these videos were taken) since they were retired!
