In July 2025, the Barton Malow-Turner-Dixon (BTD) tri-venture construction team, in partnership with Gayanga Co, placed the world’s first-ever W14x1000 steel column at Henry Ford Health’s Destination: Grand project in Detroit. Weighing 1,000 pounds per foot, it’s the heaviest rolled steel section ever produced—and it was manufactured using 98% recycled scrap and clean electricity, making it some of the greenest steel in the world.
