49th International Kolkata Book Fair is not only a book fair but heaven for book addicts, it is a place where stories meet culture and books become our friend and the smell of fresh pages feels almost addictive for every reader at heart.  We as MA journalism and mass communication students of Amity University Kolkata have reached to the Salt Lake Central Park where the heaven for book lovers, the International Kolkata Book Fair is held.  Through on ground vox pop interviews with readers we got to know how there is a clear shift in reading preferences, many visitors are increasingly choosing English books. However, the conversation did not end there many attendees passionately emphasized that regional languages still hold deep cultural and emotional value.
