Fagali is one of most important festival in Lahaul Spitti. On the day of Fagli, people of the valley give "Jub" (yowra) to the elders and seek their blessings. In Lahaul, Fagli is known by different names. These include Kuhan, Kus, Fagli, Losar and Zukaru. It is believed that due to excess snow in winter, people used to be isolated from each other for many months. Due to the terror of demons and demonic powers, people rarely came out of the houses. In such a situation, people used to pray to the Gods and Goddesses to protect them. On the day of Fagali,Traditional dishes are exchanged after worshiping their Ishtas. The locals go to all the houses in the village. It is necessary to greet on the first meeting. The eldest and elderly person takes "Dhaal" from him and blesses the younger one.
