Long time no see, guys! As many of you can guess, I'm a big fan of NateWantsToBattle, especially his original music. Who else is aboard the hype train for To Let Go?? I'm more of a symphonic sort of composer if I decide to take creative freedom on my covers, and Socioenvy was no exception. There is a guitar, yes, but I let the heavy part be carried by strings, piano, and even some brass here and there, to really tug at the heartstrings. The vocals took me a painstakingly long time to clean. I’ve been more thorough about mixing vocals after learnings Izotope RX, so now I additionally clean out any stuff that shouldn’t be in my vocals, such as hums, white noise, clicks, plosions, crackles, etc. It definitely beats having to redo vocals, so I’m happy I learned it. But oh my goodness I had to clean my low vocals SO. MANY. TIMES. Socioenvy was a piercing wake-up call to reality for me. It's powerful. You can feel the depression and regret. And of course I don't want this to sound like I'm gatekeeping for having a similar background to Nate as a content creator, but I feel like I can really understand where he's coming from with some of these lyrics. Of course, I'm nowhere near as big as he is. I don't even have 1K subscribers yet. But still, I feel I'm fairly seasoned and experienced in this, having been creating music and content on YouTube for about 7 years now. And I've had my fair share of dealing with some not-so-ideal situations on the internet. I've made such a big deal out of making music that at times my whole life would revolve around it. Then if things don't go well for me, namely, having the motivation but not the ideas, it can really wear me down. Lately I've been getting better about trying to tear myself away from that, which is good. It's never fun, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. On a more positive note, I wish you all a fabulous day, and I hope you enjoy the banger. Big stuff planned. No due dates, but I have lots of stuff planned. I may or may not include this on a cover album in the future...
