Title: "Social Return on Investment (SROI)" Series: CDPAC/PHAC Winter 2015 Webinar Series Date: March 24th 2015 Description: This webinar was part of a series of webinars co-hosted by the Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance of Canada (CDPAC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC) Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention. Social Return on Investment (SROI) is a framework for measuring and assigning a financial value to social and/or environmental outcomes that are otherwise not factored into traditional forms of return on investment analysis. The objective of SROI is to capture the full range of value created by a project’s activities, using monetary values to tell the story of social, environmental and economic outcomes. This method has recently been applied to calculate the social return of the Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention's health promotion and disease prevention activities. Craig Joyce, an analyst with CCDP, provided a brief introduction to the method, and reviewed the Centre’s SROI results as applied in a public health context.
