Octopath Traveler "The Gate of Finis" Composed by Yasunori Nishiki This is one of my absolute favorite tracks from Octopath (of which there are admittedly many...)! The ostinato and dense but faint harmonies in this piece give it a light, ethereal kind of sound that makes you feel like you're in a dream. At the same time, the mechanical rhythm and bass hits ground the song and give it a heavy sense of import. I won't spoil anything from the game, but this feel suits the in-game location perfectly. I normally try to avoid writing duets because most pianists including myself play solo, but this is one track that is perfectly laid out for a duet on one piano. Everything is cleanly laid out here - from bottom to top: bass, ostinato, harmony, melody. Both parts are easy to play yet still interesting.
