Here's Alan Havir on the difference between young workers and older people and how we can better understand each other at work. Alan explains that technology has flattened the traditional top-down, command-and-control organizational charts, which evolved from the American manufacturing model. The President runs the show and his division heads would report to up. Today's young professionals didn't grow up with the traditional pyramid leadership model and instead learned to access information and productivity from more than just the people above them on the org chart. Rather than report up, today's YoPros are happy to --- and proficient -- at swarming between dynamic hives.
