Hat tip to Ryan Lillywhite at Conn-Selmer for resurfacing and then talking to me about the King Super 20 blueprints and confirming this information. Saxophone repairman Matt Stohrer of https://www.StohrerMusic.com finally discovers the answer to a question that has been bothering him for years: why do modern replacement screws feel so loose in vintage American saxophones? You may find people (especially talking about larger size screws, in less precise environments) who say there is no difference between NC/NF and UNC/UNF, but we do not engage with these people or invite them to our cool parties. The difference is subtle, but real. The thumbnail shows a 3-48 UNC on the left and a 3-48 NC on the right.
