Genie 3 is the latest scrap project by google that is labeled as a generative world builder and a a new frontier for things like world creation and video game making. But there's just one problem, nobody needs this. And if you think this is good for the video gaming industry , news flash bubba, you deserve worms eating on your decomposing flesh. Besides the obvious factor of removing humans from the creation of art, if you can even call this art, genie 3 essentially just turned the idea of asset flipping into overdrive. I don’t see anything decent coming from this, ever, Genie 3 may create cool stuff, but real humans will hate it when they find out humans didn’t make it. And looking at what people have generated, it’s essentially addicting games compared to STEAM , Besides, can AI even make a game, from a philosophical standpoint, wouldn’t that be like a god telling a human to live life, in essence it is them. Which is kind of what google leans toward as this is supposed to be the stepping stones to artificial general intelligence, where they want to enable AI agents (called SIMA) that are capable of reasoning, problem solving, and doing real world actions within the simulation. And the craziest thing about this agent, it can play the fucking game for you, so sorry anybody that wants to test play a game and give insight on how to improve it, looks like genie 3 says screw you to that.
