Gall bladder infection is called as cholecystitis. This is more often in the case of gall stones in the gall bladder. Gall stones happen whenever there is irregular eating habits because as I said gall bladder stores the liver juice and if you do not eat on time and adequately and more frequently, then gall bladder does not contract. Stasis of fluid in the gall bladder will lead to stone formation and whenever there is a stone formation there is increase of stasis in the gall bladder and it can lead to infection of the gall bladder. There is another entity of gall bladder infection called acalculous cholecystitis which can happen in sever viral infections, it is very common.
