US President Donald Trump claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to stop buying Russian oil and instead buy it from the U.S. India's MEA made it clear that the country will take any decision in the favour of consumers and not in favour of political relations. Meanwhile, India's oil imports from Russia have dropped by 45% from June to September. Russian Deputy PM Sergei Lavrov claimed that India is using Chinese currency to yuan to buy some of these shipments. Ukraine is constantly attacking the Russian oil refineries, thus putting pressure on the supplies. As a result, Russia id reduced the discount offered to India on its oil export from 6 USD to 1 USD. India will soon host Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is still exploring the purchase of Russian weapons and jets.
