Hello friends welcome to my channel, My name is Akash Prajapati, Today's topic is TLC Test (Total Leucocytes Count Test). The TLC test measures the amount of leukocytes in your blood. Leukocyte is another name for white blood cells and hence this test is also called WBC count. TLC is usually performed as part of a complete blood count. WBCs fight infection and are also important in healing allergic reactions and inflammation. Like other blood cells, they are formed in the bone marrow and circulate in the blood. TLC is done to check the health of a person. It detects infections and other conditions such as allergies, inflammation and cancer. Although it is not an experimental test, it is helpful in ascertaining the severity of any disease and knowing the response to treatment. This test is done to check the following conditions – hidden infections blood disorders Autoimmune disorders (where the immune system destroys the body's healthy tissue) immune deficiency allergic reactions Swelling blood cancer such as lymphoma or leukemia This test also helps in finding out the efficacy of cancer treatment. If symptoms of low WBC count appear in your body, then the doctor may ask you to do this test - Fever Headache body pain Trembling An increased WBC count usually causes no symptoms, but the condition causing it may cause symptoms.
