Introducing myself to YouTube. I am here to help people with their hair care issues. Ive had Knotlocks for 3 years now and would like to share all my knowledge and experiences with them. A lot of people in the internet world don't like the way that I created my dreads basically because I used the dreaded (no pun intended) "Root-Flip" method. This method involves threading the end of the dreadlock through the root of your hair. This does in fact damage your hair, and I wouldn't recommend it for everyone out there, but I will tell you this....it DOES work and damn quickly. That is ofcourse as long as you don't mind the fact that you will be damaging your hair a little more then the "natural" neglect method of making dreads. The reason I chose to do my hair this way is for several reasons. 1. I tried neglect method first, and I wasn't liking the way the bees-wax clumped my hair. 2. I also tried twist and tear method, but my dreads kept unraveling and they wouldn't stay together long enough to mature. 3. I realized that in the beauty salons and "loctitions" used this method after going to Jamaica, and they called them "Bathroom Locks" You see, bathroom locks are the fashion sense of having dreads, not the true faith and religious reasons that many rasta's have them for. Having dreads for fashion is fine, as it's why I got them. So no disrespect to anyone who has grown dreads for spiritual/religious reasons. The way that this method will damage your hair is that it pulls your roots from your head. The reason why I do not mind this personally...I grew up as a kid always having my hair braided (corn rows) and everytime I took my braids out, TONS OF HAIR always fell out after wearing the braids for a few weeks! Luckily I have a FULL ASS HEAD of hair and could not notice it. So this is my words of advice, and a full disclaimer to fore warn anyone who watches my videos.
