In this video, we break down why Monster Hunter Wilds has received a PEGI 16 rating. Story: Monster Hunter Wilds is an action role-playing game, developed and published by Capcom. In this latest instalment in the Monster Hunter series, players take on the role of the protagonist ‘Hunter’, who is tasked with investigating the Forbidden Lands, and the rumours of a mysterious, and dangerous, new monster known only as the ‘White Wraith’. Players will venture across an open world full of dynamic environments, defeat a variety of powerful monsters, forge weapons from materials they harvest and more. There’s also an online co-op mode so you and other players can go on the hunt together! Age Rating: Monster Hunter Wilds has been rated a PEGI 16, meaning it’s not suitable for anyone under the age of 16 years old. The game has received a PEGI 16 because it features graphic violence to fantasy characters. Players can dismember monsters, with breakable parts such as tails and appendages being chopped off, leaving them on the ground for players to examine. This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items - in the form of cosmetics, music collections and equipment - which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items. The game released on February 28th 2025 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
