HS Baseball - Corona vs Los Osos Game Recap 4K - CIFSS D1 Playoffs Round 2

Corona Senior Seth Hernandez was on the mound for the Panthers facing Los Osos in a 2nd round win or go home playoff game. Los Osos took advantage of some early defensive miscues to take a 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd inning. That when Junior (2026) Jesiah Andrade hit a solo shot over the left field wall to put Corona on the scoreboard still trailing 2-1. Joshua Sur then drew a bases loaded walk to bring in Ethin Bingaman for the tying run 2-2. In the bottom of the 4th Bingaman hit a sac fly to center field as Gavin Flores came home for the go ahead score. Thats when Hernandez came to the plate and blew the game wide open with a 3 run shot to right center extending the lead 6-2. On the mound Hernandez got into a groove and finished 6 innings of work with 8 strikeouts giving up 2 hits and 2 unearned runs. Hernandez wasn't finished with the bat however as he crushed his 2nd 3 run homerun of the game to left center field to put the Panthers up 9-2 in the bottom of the 6th. Corona would tack on 2 more runs with RBI singles from Matthew Herrera and Anthony Murphy. Murphy had an impressive outing hitting 3-4 with 1 RBI. Jason Gerfers came on for 1 inning of relief to finish the game as Corona advanced to the Quarterfinals and a rematch with Big VIII division foe Norco.
