PRESS RELEASE DELHI POLICE SOUTH DISTRICT DATED: - 04.02.2023 DUO OF AUTOLIFTERS ALONGWITH A RECEIVER OF STOLEN MOTORCYLES ARRESTED BY PS MALVIYA NAGAR, SOUTH DISTRICT; 18 STOLEN MOTORCYCLES RECOVERED. • THE RECEIVER USED TO SELL THE STOLEN MOTORCYCLES TO THE BUYERS BY MISREPRESENTING THEM THAT THE MOTORCYCLES HAVE BEEN LIFTED BY FINANCE COMPANIES. INTRODUCTION: - The staff of PS Malviya Nagar, South District has done commendable work by arresting two auto-lifters namely Makshood, Naveen Kumar and a receiver of stolen motorcycles namely Hemant Parashar @ Ravi in case e-FIR No. 3486/23 dt. 01.02.2023 u/s 379 IPC, PS Malviya Nagar. Upon their instance, 18 stolen motorcycles were recovered and 18 cases of theft were worked out. BRIEF OF THE CASE/INCIDENT REPORTED: - On 01.02.23, a complainant R/o Seelampur reported that his motorcycle was stolen by some unknown persons. In this regard, a case vide e-FIR No. 3486/23 dt. 01.02.2023 u/s 379 IPC was registered and investigation was taken up. TEAM, INVESTIGATION & ARREST: - During the course of investigation, a team comprising of SI Shajid Hussain, HC Amit, HC Ramniwas, HC Yaspal, HC Rahul, Ct. Chetan, Ct. Akash & Ct. Nayan led by Inspr. Deepak Saini, SHO/Malviya Nagar under overall supervision of Sh. Harish Kukreti, ACP/Hauz Khas was formed to act swiftly. The team visited the spot from where the motorcycle was stolen and gathered the relevant information related to the incident. CCTV footage of the area were collected and thoroughly analysed. Some important and result oriented clues were collected through analysation of CCTV footage as well as through secret informers. During the analysis of CCTV footages, entry/exit route adopted by the accused was followed. The efforts of the team bore fruits when 02 persons were identified near the place of crime; their photographs were developed through technical apparatus and circulated through police net to get their identity. With the help of technical surveillance, their locations were zeroed down at Sangam Vihar and Jaitpur. Later credible information was received that both the accused would be coming in Malviya Nagar area to steal more two-wheelers. Immediately, the team strategically positioned itself near Ganda Nala, Chirag Delhi and after a while two boys were seen coming from ring road side on a motorcycle. The team signaled them to stop but they started fleeing away, the alert staff swung into action and successfully nabbed both the accused persons. Later on, they were identified as Makshood and Naveen Kumar. They were asked to produce the documents of the motorcycle but they tried to mislead the police staff by stating wrong facts. On enquiry, the motorcycle was found to be stolen and on sustained interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they had stolen many motorcycles from South District area. Further, it was revealed that they sold the stolen motorcycles to one Hemant Parashar @ Ravi. Instantly, upon their instance, a raid was conducted at Jaitpur, Badarpur and third accused Hemant Parashar @ Ravi was also arrested and total 18 stolen motorcycles were recovered. During the interrogation, the accused Hemant Parashar @ Ravi disclosed that he runs a finance office and also deals in sell & purchase of bikes. He further disclosed that he bought stolen bikes from Naveen and Maksood and sold the bikes further to purchasers by misrepresenting them that the bikes were lifted by recovery department of finance companies.   PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSON ARRESTED:- 1.
