In light of today’s alarming restrictions on reproductive rights, healthcare providers have a moral imperative to make legal reproductive health services widely available. Many reproductive health needs can be met quickly and easily in Emergency Departments (EDs), yet most ED providers are not well trained in these areas and depend on OB-GYNs who are in increasingly short supply. Right now, contraception is not regularly available in EDs, even in those serving as the primary source of care for people living in regions with insufficient primary care and family planning services. Many patients are turned away for pregnancy emergencies until their life is in danger. This webinar introduces the audience to Access Bridge, a new organization under the Bridge umbrella. Speakers walk through newly-released algorithms for treating common pregnancy emergencies from the ED, such as miscarriage management and quick-start contraception, and share stories of using these protocols in the field. Speakers also present a justice-based framework that improves access to equitable care for pregnant patients who have historically been marginalized by the health care system. Speakers: Kelly Pfeifer, MD Rochelle Jagdeo, MD Rebecca Trotzky-Sirr, MD Elizabeth Keating, MPA
