Close to You [Sans Cover] - Undertale Parody Fansong

*i can never travel back in time... *but they smile back at me, those days. Close to You is song near and dear to my heart. It's an extremely emotional piece that does strangely relate to Sans in a lot of ways, which was probably the basis for the original cover by kumalegs (who I believe goes by another name these days). The original producer, niki, created a very raw and personal-sounding song, and to almost pay homage to the way the UNDERTALE community remembers it, I opted to also use Justin Ly's acoustic instrumental, which ‪@AmatsukiUta‬ helped to ground my vocals in. As I've before said in my community post, there are a few old recordings of me trying to sing this, and they're not too good. Even now, I think I could've done better, but this is perhaps as close as I'll get to having it sound like how I'd like it to. And different to Starimation's popular parody animation, I wanted to go in a different direction for the story this song is trying to tell for Sans. While still being melancholic and resigned, I wanted there to be a hopeful aftertaste. In some ways, this is my own 10th Anniversary gift to the community.
