EP-PE One is an extraordinary musical collaboration between keyboardist Eric Persing and multi-winds maestro Pedro Eustache. The two acclaimed artists have never played together before and this video documents their first musical encounter. INTERVIEW: 00:23 PERFORMANCE: 04:34 ERIC INSTRUMENTS: 22:28 PEDRO INSTRUMENTS: 32:43 Both musicians agreed to the following limitations for this project: • Bring only three main instruments • No knowledge of what the other would bring • No discussion of what would be played • No rehearsal, everything completely improvised • Everything played Live, no prearranged material • No overdubs or second takes This improvisational session was recorded and filmed in a Downtown Los Angeles loft. The session lasted for several hours and four separate improvisations were captured. These four improvisations were later edited into a single, flowing musical suite, which is what is represented here. The accompanying album features this suite as well as three additional Ambient pieces Eric Persing created from the session tapes.
