KTAR TV "12 Action News" 600 PM September 8, 1978

I did not direct this newscast (I left KTAR TV in August, 1978, after five years there as a newscast director and one year prior as a television operations engineer there) but I wanted to add this "12 Action News" program to this YouTube channel and tag it for Steve Pascente -- the YouTube source for this video has the comment "Please add Steve Pascente as a tag for this video! He died far too young and I'm sure his kids would love to see footage of their dad as a young man." I have worked with many good television sports reporters in my career directing television newscasts and Steve Pascente was one of the best. Steve's tightly scripted sports reports not only resulted in excellent, comprehensive presentations but also made it so easy for me to call the take to taped segments exactly as scripted with the two-inch and then one-inch tape playback machines that required a five-second pre-roll. This "12 Acton News" newscast director was Bucky Gunts -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucky_Gunts -- who went on to become a multi-Emmy award winning sport television director The closing credits list the many good friends that I worked with at KTAR TV from 1972 to 1978. Those were the days, my friends.
