Level 4 Creative Enterprise students at East Norfolk Sixth Form have created a film exploring Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse’s 2024 exhibition ‘Making the Rounds: Stories of Workhouse Nurses Told in Textiles’. Gressenhall’s volunteer researchers discuss some of the fascinating stories they found about workhouse nurses between 1777 – 1948, and what went into their research. The Museum Curator talks about working with textile artist Connie Flynn to bring these stories to life. ‘Making the Rounds: Stories of Workhouse Nurses Told in Textiles’ is open daily at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse until November 2024. The creation of this film was supported by Creative Collisions and Kick the Dust, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
