Hi, I am Doctor Who and the Midjourney. I present to you the first few minutes of the missing Doctor Who story 'The Roof of the World' AKA Marco Polo episode 1! And then some other fun bits I've done recently. AI imagery and animation costs a little, so if you'd like to support this project, please follow the below link: / doctorwhoandthemidjourney This was created with ComfyUI workflows, custom trained models, @Kling_ai for animation and After Effects for compositing. I could post-process this for ever but I've left it rough and ready just to show you the 'out of the box' version. Many acknowledgements to those this work builds upon. LC, JV, MA and all the home recordists. For almost three years now, I have used AI tools to explore—and bring to life—the extended Whoniverse. I am a child of The Wilderness Years of Doctor Who. I loved the show, kept alive by UK Gold and the occasional terrestrial repeat. But my real passion was the books from Virgin Publishing and the BBC, the comics in DWM, and later, the audio stories from Big Finish. To me, this seemed like a rich world to explore through AI. Initially, I began by simply illustrating scenes, monsters, and characters using Midjourney, a generative image tool. Now, my ambition is to bring whole scenes, stories, and episodes to life through AI animation. This account is very much an R&D project of my own—a way to teach myself how to use these tools and explore new workflows for animation and imagery. But as the account grows, so does the scope of the project. I now work on missing episode reconstructions and incorporate many more tools, rather than relying solely on Midjourney. Of course, as the work becomes more complex, it also becomes more costly. And that is why I have started a Patreon / doctorwhoandthemidjourney . With a little support from you, faithful viewer, this project can go even further. Expect missing episode reconstructions, live-action visualisations of Big Finish stories, and perhaps even… a third Cushing film? A BBC novel adaptation? Who knows where this journey will take us—but thank you for being part of it.
