Greetings and welcome to Part 3 of my out-of-the-box build of the classic Hasegawa 1/72 scale F4U-1A Corsair! In the previous episode I painted and decaled the model as “White 883” of VMF-214, an aircraft associated with the infamous Gregory “Pappy” Boyington of the legendary Black Sheep Squadron. In this final episode I focus on bringing the model to life with heavy Pacific theatre weathering, inspired by the harsh operating conditions Corsairs experienced during WWII. In this video: 🔹 Layered metal chipping techniques 🔹 Oil paint weathering and staining 🔹 Enamel washes for panel lines and grime 🔹 Oil leaks and fluid streaking 🔹 Final details including rigging wires and navigation lights 🔹 Final reveal and post-build kit review The goal is to recreate a heavily used Pacific Corsair, showing the kind of wear and staining often seen on aircraft operating from rough island bases. ⬇️ Shop + Support the Channel ⬇️ 🛩️ Patreon: / luca_sprues 🛒 eBay Shop: https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/luca_sprues 🖨️ Cults 3D Store: https://cults3d.com/en/users/lucajjon... 💙 Huge thanks to all current Patreons for your incredible support — including Archie Palmer, IMO, J and K Jones, Matt Austin, Joan Moss, Paulo (Modeling the comeback), and Supply Sergeant Karl!
