As our population ages and care needs increase, the systems designed to support caregivers must evolve, experts say. During a recent panel discussion with Grantmakers in Aging and Detroit PBS, local experts discussed caregiving and the systemic changes needed to better support caregivers. The panel was moderated by Fred Nahhat, Senior Vice President of Production at Detroit PBS, and included: Kristie King, Executive Director, Southeast Michigan Senior Regional Collaborative Misha Stallworth West, Program Officer, Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation Damaris Doss, Director of Development, Teach for America Detroit. The conversation also covered topics including mental health, workplace flexibility, and how policy changes can better recognize and support caregivers.
