Exploring the new Binary Mode in the latest Polymaths firmware on the NUSS from Make Noise🖤 Polymaths is still an 8-channel Rise/Fall function generator. In Binary Mode, the 8 channels represent the bits of a binary number: when a channel’s bit state is 1, an incoming trigger at the Activate input will generate an envelope on that channel; when it’s 0, it stays silent. As the internal value changes, different combinations of channels fire, distributing activity across the system. This ends up creating rhythmic envelopes and structured modulation patterns that feel almost like patchable logic emerging from movement. . From there, the main voice is Multiwave. With the blue Follow behavior engaged, the second voice can shift an octave above or below the primary contour, creating great harmonic motion. . One binary channel is also modulating Morphagene’s SOS, so the reel glitches open and collapse following the same state transitions. Everything melts through QPAS and Mimeophon. Stereo motion into temporal diffusion never disappoints. Sequence by René MkII. Clock & distribution by Jolin Lab Krono. Best experienced with headphone 🎧 Thank you for stopping by!
