Capturing the Heart of Mourning: Multan Cantt 21 Ramzan Matami Juloos (Multan Pakistan) Experience the Solemnity of Youm-e-Shahadat Imam Ali (A.S.) in Multan. Step into the heart of Multan Cantt as we bring you the visual coverage of the 21st Ramzan 2026 Matami Juloos. This vlog captures the immense devotion, sorrow, and deep respect shown by thousands commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Ali (A.S.). As a woman navigating the dense, solemn crowd, I've done my best to capture the emotional spirit and scale of the main juloos. From the intricate details of the Taboot (symbolic bier) adorned with roses to the resonant Noha-khwani and the orderly procession of Azadaars (mourners) from different Imambargahs, this video is a tribute to the enduring love for Mola Ali. You'll see the powerful imagery reflected in our thumbnail: the dedicated women mourners in the zananah, the diverse faces of the procession, and the deep reverence for the symbolic Alam and Taboot. We witness the resilience of the Shia community in Multan coming together in a shared expression of grief and solidarity. This isn't just a vlog; it's a testament to the cultural and religious fabric of Multan, showing how the city honours the legacy of Imam Ali (A.S.). Why is 21 Ramzan So Significant? (A Brief History) The 21st of Ramzan marks a pivotal and tragic moment in Islamic history: the martyrdom of Imam Ali (A.S.), the first Imam and fourth Caliph. This day is a dark reminder of the power of political division and the sacrifices made for principles. The assassination was not a random act, but a deep-seated conspiracy woven in the complex political landscape after the Battle of Siffin. A group called the Kharijites (Seceders), who had once supported Ali but later rebelled, believed his death, along with others, was the only way to resolve the community's internal conflict. On the 19th of Ramzan, as Imam Ali was deep in prayer in the Great Mosque of Kufa, his assassin, Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljam, struck him with a poison-laced sword. Though the blow was fatal, Imam Ali (A.S.) lived for two more days. In his final hours, even after facing such betrayal, he continued to display immense grace and justice. He insisted that his assassin be treated fairly, offering him his own milk and instructing his followers to follow the letter of the law if his wounds proved fatal. He finally succumbed on the 21st of Ramzan. His final resting place in Najaf, Iraq, shown in our thumbnail, is a major pilgrimage site. We are reflecting that powerful memory here in Multan.
