Check out this INCREDIBLE 'Rejang' Balinese Dance at Odalan Pura Puseh!

Yep it's that time of year again ... Galungan lan Kuningan ceremony. I didn't actually join in for Galungan this time as I had a sore foot and wasn't able to walk around but by the time 'Odalan Pura Puseh' ceremony had rolled around I was feeling much better and wanted to share it with you guys. It's one of the biggest ceremonies in our village and is for the birthday of the 2 main temples here in Tangkup. During this 3 day ceremony the Gods come down to Earth to bathe, cleanse and receive blessings. The people 'transport' the Gods in golden temples known as Jempana from the temple, to the river and back again. They are accompanied by offerings and a Gamelan ensemble, stopping in a few places on the way back to 'take a rest.' Later that night, the women and girls perform dances known as Rejang Sari and Rejang Dewa which are used to welcome and entertain the Gods. Finally every one in the village joins together to pray. This ceremony is always hosted at night so I apologise that some of the footage is not the clearest but I hope you get to experience a little bit of the magic.
