This is a documentary about Dave Haase’s 2024 8th attempt at Race Across America. His first RAAM attempt was 2 decades ago in 2004. It tells the story of how Dave and his crew overcome incredible difficulties to endure the toughest endurance race in the world. Dave was determined to win 2024 RAAM against competitors half his age, proving that his age is no barrier to greatness. Balancing his passion for racing with the demands of running a successful bike shop, Dave's relentless drive is a testament to his unwavering perseverance both on and off the bike. The Race Across America (RAAM) is widely regarded not only as the toughest cycling endurance event but also as one of the most challenging endurance races in the world. Unlike the Tour de France, Race Across America is not a stage race. Instead, RAAM is a single, continuous race—the clock starts at the Oceanside pier, it doesn't stop until you reach the boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ. The 2024 Race Across America covers just 3,000 miles, about 30% longer than the Tour de France, and racers complete this distance in roughly half the time of the Tour. There are no rest days in RAAM and the clock never stops. Competitors ride from Oceanside CA, to Atlantic City, NJ across 12 states and climb over 170,000 vertical feet. Racers have a maximum of 12 days to finish the race, Dave is aiming to finish the 2024 RAAM in under 10 days.
